Well, i think Fyron is right. Humans are not a race to be added into a Fantasy mod, because whats so fantasy-ish about them ?!

I would prefer dwarves because then you would have orcs, elves, undead and darves, thats sounds like a neat deal. Or maybe Lizardmen. That would be kewl as well, would give the game more diversibilty (sp?).
For race advantages i would suggest fast units/components, maybe population bonus facilites and maybe better supply components ?!
