I'm pretty sure that it was 8 provinces and it wasnt a sneak attack it was a pre-emptive strike.
I know that I would be the next target after Vanheim fell (paranoid who says I'm paranoid?) so I accelerated the process a little. Mind you I still wake from nightmares of little birds coming from everywhere. Ahh the joys of fighting a flying nation.
