I believe I'm the opponent you fought in that battle, and I've noticed similar things happening in other battles I've fought in that game. I believe it's because I'm using retrofits to speed up building and training, and not bothering to rename the retrofitted ships. I'd be willing to bet that each dead ship shown as surviving in the log entry has the same name as a ship that did survive. I also would not be surprised if some of the "dead" ships survived, but had the same name as one that did not. This is the only place I've noticed where the game can get confused by identical ship names.
