[Baron Munchausen]

The AI doesn't seem to have any strategy with fighter designs. It will randomly select among whatever designs are in the given race's designcreation file just like it does with ships or any other design class. Too bad.

As for the upgrade problem, this is probably caused by a mismatch of the designcreation file and the research file. If the AI isn't programmed to research the techs expected in the design creation file, then it never gets the techs it needs to upgrade the original designs! Have you been modding your files?
