It wasn't exactly my
first major fleet battle, but I've had something like that happen. My 18 LC's came through a warp point and found over 50 mixed enemy destroyers and LC's on the other side. Too bad for the other guy that I had already maxed out CS, ECM, armor, and training on all of these ships and had a level 5 shield generator on them (PPB were disabled in this game), while he had none of the specialty armors, no shields, no CS or ECM at all on most of his ships, and no higher than level 2 CS and ECM on his latest stuff, and I wouldn't be surprised to learn that he didn't have training either. Not only did I take no losses, I took no damage
. My enemy in that battle withdrew from the game shortly afterwards, though not before I glassed his homeworld the next turn.
