Re: OT: Narf has gone looney and wants to GM.(Edit
Server down and running isn't.
50 skeletons powdered, one evil cleric killed. loot: 1,111 gp (330 spent on Identify; rest given to Derrel so Jason can own the gemstones), 8 small black onyx gems, 4 medium black onyx gems, 1 large black onyx gem; 1 spell components pouch, 5 lbs of silver dust, a vial of Unholy water, a masterwork sickle (+2), a suite of masterwork full plate armor (+2), a large masterwork shield (+2). 900 exp each.
Let's see ... Market prices: Plate 5,650; Sheild 4,170; Sickle 8,306; powdered silver 25 gp; spell components pouch 5 gp; unholy water 25 gp; gemstones: small 25 each (8, so 200 gp), medium 50 each (four, so 200 gp), large 100 (1, so 100 gp). Jason's planning on keeping the gemstones (worth 500, all told); the plate, shield, sickle, and pouch would have a market value of 18,131 gp; sells for 9,086 gp, or 4,543 each.
A heavy warhorse sells for 400 gp, a military saddle for 20 gp, saddlebags for 4 gp, a pack saddle for 15 gp, a donkey or mule for 8 gp. A month's worth (30 days) of feed costs 1.5 gp per animal (5 cp * 30 days = 150 cp = 15 sp = 1.5 gp) (and weighs 300 lbs); a wagon costs 35 gp, a cart costs 15 gp; A heavy horse costs 200 gp.
Two heavy horses, a month's feed for both, a wagon, should cost 200+200+3+35=438 gp.
Heavy horses can drag up to 3000 pounds each; two, 6,000. 600 lbs of feed plus a 400 lbs wagon makes for 1000 lbs; Two heavy horses should be able to drag such a loaded wagon without difficulty.
Jason would like to have Derrel make this purchase for him.
A heavy warhorse, a military saddle, saddlebags, and a month's feed should cost 400+20+4+1.5 = 425.5 gp; if you are interested, Derrel - you do get your own, free, special mount once a day for up to 24 hours (Derrel is on level 12, no?) - although you will want a Military saddle and Saddlebags (24 gp) to go with, so you can store your equipment.
Edit: whoops - was looking at the wrong line - a wagon costs 35 gp, not 40.
Edit 2: and after the purchase, another - a chest (2 gp) with an Amazing Lock (150 GP, DC 40 to open) to store the leftover cash, and put that in the chest - let's see... 5000 for the Dragon, 5000 from the town, is 10,000; 438 for wagon, horses, and feed, 152 for chest and lock runs to 590, leaving 9,510 in the chest ... as long as the Paladin doesn't get greedy.
