had them in San Diego, Austin, Dallas, San Francisco, and L.A.

love those things. more often than not, i hear them called 'jallapeno poppers,' and you can get them in the frozen food section of most grocery stores in my area.

there is a restruant chain in Texas called 'Jims' which is a southwestern style 24hr place almost like dennys but less pancakes, more grits. they have these things which are battered, deep fried, jalapeno strips (slice the skin of the pepper into thin strips, batter, fry) and they call them 'texas toothpicks'

those are good too.

of course most mexican or tex-mex restruants have stuffed peppers, which are larger peppers (the type varies) stuffed with sauce, sometimes meat, and / or cheese.

recently a friend of mine has taken to pickling peppers. large quantities of mixed peppers are sliced and thrown into a jar of pickling sauce (with a few cucumber spears) and a boatload of spices. when they come out the pickle spears are mighty tasty, and the peppers are supreme. requires a tall cold-one or two in order to wash down several of the peppers tho.

However, if you got any of these above mentioned things anywhere near a snack donought, you should be shot.
