The subject that got me interested in military history was Snoopy and the Red Baron.
That expanded into WWI aircraft, then all of WWI, then both World Wars, and kept growing. My first serious wargame was Avalon Hill's _1914_. I have a WWI flight sim on my system, but I need to clear some space on the HD for the swap file before I can play it again.
