OK I am right that US college is much like UK university? If not skip the rest of this post.
So you'll have loads of free time, which is all spent in pubs, bars, clubs and various other non-SEIV things. Especially at the start, really don't miss any of those events, the stuff that happends then is the basis of jokes that will last your entire time their.
