I think there's a
blitz game (where everyone stays online the whole time, or at least until somone goes to sleep) every weekend. And
this game has not yet started. Otherwise, if you wait a week or two, there will be a new
Recruitable Rebalance mod game starting.
Don't worry about newby / not newby; if you can beat the AIs on hard+ then you're definitely ready for multiplayer. Skill varies wildly, and luck and diplomacy are both very important in Doms II. So, unless you have a burning need to win everything you play, there's no reason to exclusively play against newbies.
