For the best in new/re-vamped AI's, go for the latest TDM-Modpack, in the downloads section, for troop AI's go for Atraikius's 'Orks' shipset, the Vikings AI, and I believe the latest Version of the Aquilaeians. For more fun (ie, good random events) go for Dracus's Events Mod. And while I'm at it I might as well plug some of my own stuff!
