Ok, I'm going for the low-blow here...
This is different from the *actual* Star Wars movies... how? Mr Lucas knows how to direct pretty effects, but a writer he is not. And I have never been able to decide if the bad acting in the films is because the writing is bad or the actors aren't as talented... but I do know that whenever I see Natalie Portman in a film, I see her, but not the character she plays. Ewan McGregor does a little better, I see him as his character about half the time. But overall, I think part of the definition of Star Wars is bad writing, bad acting. It just wouldn't be the same otherwise
