Default Hi all! New player... and a question

Hi all... after several days consumed with the demo, I just got Dominions 2 in the mail a week ago. What a fine game! I'm already starting to develop an obsession over it.

By way of justifying this delurk post, I thought I'd ask a question relating to my pretender. I'm playing AE Ermor, and have the Great Enchantress as my pretender. She's the only non-undead commander in my domain. Somewhere in the course of play, I cast the global enchantment 'burden of time'. I had cast 'twiceborn' on my enchantress previously, thinking that as a non-undead, she'd be affected by the enchantment.

Surprisingly, she's not. I also cast 'utterdark', and I'm not sure it has had any impact on her as well, but that's harder to measure. Are pretenders naturally immune to the global enchantments they cast, or am I missing something? Do they not age? She is ethereal, but I didn't think that made a difference outside the battlefield.

Thanks!
