It is a bit like the "tactic" in original SP1 when faced by tigers, panthers, Char B, KV tanks etc.
Buy engineer sections, place on the approach to an objective, either side by side or at 1 hex intervals, and use the X key to build a screen of flame. Hide the engineers behind the flame screen and engage emerging enemy at 1 hex with close assaults with the remaining 3-4 flame shots.
Worked wonderfully in SP1, at least against the AI..
