Im not sure if the forums are timing as much as they are shamed into it. Was I the only one that pestered them over and over till they put some forums in?
Of course they might also have been waiting for Aarons answer on whether or not he was going to do his own or declare a fan site as the official forums. Strat1st seems to prefer it that way.
