Heh, reminds me of the time I cast polymorph on something and didn't even get to move again before I died. It went something like this:
You cast Polymorph on the monster.
It turns into a Chaos Vortex!
The Chaos Vortex breathes chaos at you.
You feel your life draining away.
You have lost a level.
You have lost knowledge of <insert spell name here>.
You have lost knowledge of <insert spell name here>.
You have lost a level.
You have lost knowledge of <insert spell name here>.
You have lost knowledge of <insert spell name here>.
You have lost a level.

And so on, finally culminating with one of the summoned polymorphed monsters finishing my (now level 1) character with one blow. When I cast the initial polymorph that set it all off, I was somewhere around level 20-30, and at full health. Needless to say, I did not experiment with Polymorph again for a very long time, and I was extremely careful about it when I finally encountered a chaos vortex as a normal spawn for the first time.
