This a good reason why it's important to support MM if you're a fan of the Space Empires series or other titles that are amenable to PCs. A lot of people were put off when SE:IV Gold was released and they had to pay extra money for "a patch". But look at the result, Aaron was able to quit his day job and work on SE games full-time, which has been (and will be) a bonus for us. To some degree we also have to expect a higher cost when it comes to the game, as the level of sales won't allow for much flexibility in price - otherwise there'd be no money for MM to work with and no incentive for MM to continue making SE games.
