Default Re: Star Trek Enterprise Finale

I didn't even bother to watch it. I knew Scott Bakula was a terrible choice for captain before the show ever even aired. And after seeing it it only confirmed that he never felt right to me in that type of role. I, like many, lost interest in the show very early on. The way I look at it now, there are even more ex-Star Trek fans/watchers that can now become BSG fans and watchers.

BSG deserves to live on for ten more seasons while Enterprise (and Star Trek to an extent) deserve to die. When a show starts directly remaking episodes from previous related series you just know they are out of fresh ideas..and the end has to be near.

On that same note, I find it very encouraging that the very guy responsible for much of what was Star Trek (to some extent anyway) could do something so new, fresh, and interesting like BSG.

It's also encouraging to see a show that can actually bring in new Sci-Fi fans. Star Trek was not ever really capable of that.

Of course I suppose the true "Trekkie" likes being all weird and exclusive. And likely would have to hate BSG for those very reasons..

But I, for one, am not so narrow minded. It remains to be seen exactly how many Star Trek fans will likewise follow suit.

BSG is no Star Trek, but in every other way its a superior show.

A Final Farewell to Star Trek and the Enterprise show...

And a big welcome to the fresh new era of Sci-Fi...
