would it be possible for someone to create a shell from which to launch the game, that was capable of saving the state of a running game from the shell? thus you would have a simultanious-save-game feature for mid-turn.

It would be ideal if the mod chooser could do this, but i think that would require rewriting alot of its functionality since its a front-end and not a shell..
