I say, go for Dom-II. By now it is mature and very rich with player made content (mods and maps), and it is sure to give you your moneys worth.

Also, there's no rush to buy dom-III. Its possible that its price will drop or that there will be a serious discount and as long as you wait it will have more patches, mods and maps.
