I am not sure that I understand what you are trying to do "a torpedo with ammo constraights" but maybe this helps some.
On the 'Enemies.txt' page there is an entry that every ship has including the fighters. There are three lines that are what you are looking for: 'Response Range' and two 'AI Script Name...' lines. That will take you to the ‘Main_AI_Script.txt' where the behavior of the ships can be "influence". The thing is that even thought you may be able to change the pattern which the fighter follows, it is very restrictive. For example this was discussed before when someone was trying to make fighters collide with ships.
'How to make the fighter fly into stuff', the 'fighter bay' on the "components" file has a line that reads: "Effect 1 Type: = Launches / Recovers Fighters". How can you make the "effects" do your bidding, I do not know... for the moment.
