BAR overrated?
Hi All
The obvious point to make here is that pretty much every country went to war with an LMG, unfortunately for the American squads someone decided they would use a SLR in the role. Now a SLR is not as good as a LMG in providing 'covering' fire because;
1. No quick change barrel, so unable to maintain the ROF required to suppress the target.
2. Depending on how many are allocated to the squad, its not part of a gun 'team', so not enough ammo carried anyway.
So my question is, why does a SLR get statistics every bit as good as the other countries LMG's, if not better?
