Acutally, this information is neither subjective, not based on some writers opinion, but on facts stated by the developers: They
have based their nations on existing/historical ones and, especially where magic and magical creatures are concerned, well-documented myths and folk lore.
I even would move that info from being buried in the paragraph "special features" into "type of game" right after the mentioning of a "fantasy world": IMHO it makes Dominions very different from all those mainstream games.
