Trek's New Nemesis ?

The Insider, the syndicated gossip TV series, reported rumors that the liberal young producers of J.J. Abrams' pending 11th Star Trek movie have proposed some radical new additions to the script. The newest enemy of the Federation is slated be a completely new race of intelligent arachnoids, in gigantic spidery ships, bent on destroying the existing timelines and rewriting the history of the universe in their own image.

Citing an anonymous source, it is also reported that Abrams (Mission: Impossible III) is seriously considering a gay affair between Damon's younger Kirk and an as yet uncast Spock. He's sought support from the original Kirk, William Shatner. "Shatner gave his blessing," the source reportedly told the show. "J.J. got his approval, he really loves the idea."
