1st - I don't know. I know that there are Fire Sling, Fire Shortbow, Fire Longbow etc, and I suspect that these are linked to the Flaming Arrows spell... but I don't know.

2) Not to my knowledge. I'm not even sure if it is possible to create a new missile weapons with range of Str.
