Honestly, 'buggered if I know', looks like a very colloquially translation to me!
In the other hand, I'm not an expert in Latin, but anyway... here is my translation for “Sodomis non sapiens”:
“Sodomis: “ Sodom, one of the cities that was burned by God, because their inhabitants (the Sodomites) liked to have sex in the way that God disliked!
! And you know… for extension, a Sodomite is a male person that like to have sex with people of their own sex…
“Non”. Very easy to translate: not.
“Sapiens: “ Have several translations to english, if I’m not wrong. Some are: wise, sage, discreet, judicious.
Considering that the people of Sodom, caused the Wrath of God… obviously that these guys were not very wise people!
And then I believe that a decent translation could be: “Sodom is not wise” or maybe “The people of Sodom is not wise”.
Then, an alternate transaltion, could be: The Sodomites are not judicious!
