Default Re: gift / trade units

yeah, you can trade ships that cary units. same goes for planets.

but on the trade screen, there is a button specificly for units. and there is never anything listed. There are lots of reasons to want to trade pure units, the most common of which would be to trade or give away a fleet of fighters or a pile of sats.

in this case, i want to give away a minefield to another player. why? because i want it to blow up my allies ships if they come into the sector, and the third player is not allied with the second. (yes, this could be used in many games, but i want it for the Smash TV game, so i can keep people from using the center system as a jumping-off point.. im not actually devious enough to stab someone in the back this way)

another use that i can think of, is to give troops to an ally. Why, you ask? MAD i say! If you each have troops on each others planets, you will keep your alliance for a very long time since Mutual Assured Destruction will keep things peacefull. this could also be handy for keeping a client state subjugated. or, if you could give troops in a cargo hold to another player, you could in essence capture a planet with your fleet, and have it go into his controll when the troops land.
