You are right and wrong.
I started from the begining and counted every single unit. Then repeated the count every movement. I was not catching the attrition. Every hit was a kill. There were no wounded. Each red 6, 8, 16 floating up was the vapor of the body.
Just was not obvious in the mass rush to hand to hand combat.
