Fire Arrows does work with slings.

Since many Agarthans are size 3+, it'd be rather odd if they couldn't enter their native terrain.

It does make sense that in general ranged attacks be much less useful in caverns. I think it's somewhat the case anyway due to the darkness. But a range limit would make sense.
