I moved the free fleet back to the neighboring system and the game does a double take on the warp sound. I rename the fleet still stuck on the planet and tell it to move to the wormhole and bada-bing, the fleet I warped out the previous team warps back in, with the new name I just gave the fleet over the planet. Frankly, if you can't rejoin the fleet, it's a game breaker. The other thing I noticed was once the free fleet left the system I could once again SEE ships in the fleet stuck over the planet. This is a pretty nasty bug.
