Battlestar Galactica was a cool looking ship. It looked more 'realistic' in a sense than almost any other major SciFi ship. (Erm, even though it operated in 2 dimensions...

) The ships on Space: 1999 were actually quite good. Both the 'Eagle' flying from the Moonbase and the various alien ships were very realistic. It's too bad the show itself was so uneven. But undoubtedly the very coolest SciFi ships were the 'organic' tech ships on Babylon 5. The Shadow 'battlecrab' ships, the Vorlon 'squids', and 'Vorlon-derivative' Whitestar ships were all more dangerous looking than an entire fleet of Star Trek tinker-toy ships.

Star Trek ships may look good from certain angles but they don't look like real space ships, and that is essential to really looking 'good' in my mind.
