Drones will use whatever weapons you give them, just be sure to set their strategy appropriately.

Note that there is a bug where ships/units armed with only point defense weapons will act as if they are unarmed and run away even when targets their PD can shoot are present. This doesn't matter if your drones are still set to ram, but if you want your drones to stick around and keep using their non-warhead weapons you'll have to give them at least one non-PD weapon that can hit their intended targets before they'll follow any strategies other than ram and don't get hurt.
