Let me put in a plug for others who will visit this thread:
The OED (Yes, Oxford English Dictionary) is soliciting help in tracking down the usage of unique Science Fiction words. Things like the use of 'android' (which goes back to 1727!) and 'robot' and 'dyson sphere' and all those other cool terms that we geeks trade amongst ourselves. Heavy readers of science fiction can help to find original uses, track the evolution of terms, and just accumulate usage background for scholarly work. Go to
