I have a totally legit copy (ordered from Shrapnel) that has this problem. It crops up sporadically when I hit Esc; it happens much more rarely, but not never, when I'm playing SP instead of MP.

When the GUI disappears, the keyboard commands still work, so you can still save/end your turn if you need to!
