Curses are difficult. Wounds can be filtered (but not specifically diseases) by selecting a unit in a squad and pressing "w". "Experienced" units (units with 2+ stars) can also be filtered the same way with the "e" key.
A more detailed battle report has been requested (along with a siege casualty report). I agree; this would be helpful.
