As prophet with a command of 305 units he too valuable to send into battle.
He has shield of valor, frost brand, robe of shadows, barkskin amulet, fire helmet, boots of the messenger, and amulet of resilience. The barkskin gives him a armor of 12 and the helmet offsets with a fire resistance of 25. I should probably trade the resilience for a luck, but he is mainly a spell caster.
I know if I turn him into a SC he will get muted in the first battle. That is just the way it works. I have never had much luck with SC's. Besides I figure he is doing more good keeping his 300 troops fighting.
