I wouldn't expect anything else but a fight to the death.
I had a scout in the battle you had with Pythium, and saw your forces totally decimate an army that would have totally decimated
my army. I think at the time you also had 3 out of 3 gem-producing globals up.
My only hope was to backstab you while your forces were out West, still drunk from their celebrations. Which in itself wouldn't have been have been enough, but I hoped that by not waiting 3 turns Pythium might also still have some forces around to do something with.
I've had fun in all the games we've played in together, even when losing. Plus I learn more when I lose. And I hope I made the game a little more challenging for you!
Also, I think a little treachery can go a long way to making the storyline of a game more interesting. You know: betrayal, revenge, all that good stuff. When I'm back though, and hosting more games, I'll be sure to note in the game post that I don't always consider NAPs or even alliances totally inviolable.
