llamabeast, I've just got bit by this again and the server definitely didn't send me a notice. The problem is I'm in two games on your server, and I seem prone to accidentally send the wrong game's .2h file back when I'm attaching it to the email (they both seem to host around the same time, so I'm usually taking both turns close together). I just staled on the Allegiance game because I took my turn, then sent in the .2h file for this game which didn't do anything at all. Anyway, like I said, no biggie (it's my own stupid fault) but if you're looking for something to add then that safety net would be helpful for me.
It would just check that the .2h file name matched the nation listed in the subject line. If it's already supposed to be sending me a message then there's some bug here.
