You always get the local/natural population type, in addition to your own troops, when you conquer an enemy fortress (just as you do when building a fortress). It looks like you got red amazons as the local poptype, it's not from Ermor specifically.
It is a little odd that you get natural poptype recruitment from everywhere
except your own capital. But it seems an unavoidable balance issue; if you got a random indep population at your starting fortress, some nation/poptype combos could provide a serious bonus at game start.
