A quick suggestion for the people at the very first game (or with very little turns played before)
The internal dominions3 message system does work but doesn't have an history of the messages sent and it takes some time to get an answer (2 turns usually..) so it is common practice to use the forum/Personal messages for diplomacy purpose!
For instance your declaration of wars, nap , alliance , trade offers , threats , ecc should all be carried out either in this thread (if u want it public) or wia PM (for private thing).
Though not mandatory it usually improve the game experience if the players engage in diplomacy/boasting/threats/whatever in the game thread
