The best way to avoid sticky keys in Windows is never use the shift key to wake a computer up from sleep or anywhere else, since pressing shift down for more than 10 seconds or so will activate sticky keys or at least ask if you want to do it. I always use ctrl to do such waking up. It's an ingrained habit by now.

You can probably find how to turn them off from someplace inside system properties or wherever in Windows, probably Computer Management screen (r-click on My Comp and choose Manage) but where exactly, that's going to be a pain in the arse to find. I've no idea which parameter it is.
