Re: Robo Miners - How to use them ?
Actaully the D&D memorizing of spells make perfect sense (as far as magic can).
Most people just get confused by the langauge used to describe how it works.
One of the books explained it quite well though.
You see after you cast a spell its not that you no longer "know" how to cast it.
Its not that you no longer "know" the spell.
Its simply that when you memorize a spell you are locking energy in a preset pattern in your mind.
This is the prerequisite for casting a given spell.Consider it a component if that helps.
Its a little like a partial precast.
When you cast the spell the energy in your mind that is locked in the set pattern is used as well as energy from other sources(clerical,planes,etc..)
Once the energy pattern is gone from your mind, you can no longer cast the spell.
But you still know it,and you still know how to cast it.
You simply can't cast it again becuase part of the spells requirements(the energy pattern in your mind) is no longer there.
You must now "memorize" the spell again, this puts the energy back in your mind in the pattern required for the spell.
Of course with the "new" powergamers Version -3rd edition .This no longer holds fully true.
As for the topic of the robo miners,I really have no clue.
Oddly enough Ive never used them.
