dominions and X - freezing the box
I have a little problem running dom3 on one of my boxes, namely one with a matrox g450. On my notebook with a radeon, otherwise the same setup, it runs fine.
System:
AMD 64bit,
gentoo ~amd64,
xorg 7.4, open source driver
DRI working.
The graphics is much slower, the mouse cursor gets corrupted and sooner or later the system freezes. The machine is still there and accessible via ssh, but the X process eats all the CPU and trying to kill it will not work, neither does a reboot. The only option is to reset.
This happens seemingly at random, sometimes after a couple of minutes, sometimes after an hour or more. But it makes playing my turns on that machine very difficult.
Before I open a support request I wanted to ask here if anybody experiences something similar. I think it's not dom3 directly but rather an opengl issue, but I don't know.
