It's just a minor step towards making the game more conventional. There is still plenty of quirks to make the game stand apart from other strategy games... for now  .

Yes, it is a strategy gaming convention to remove egregious bugs that not only
completely violate rules intended by the developers but also cheapen the spirit of the game, and fracture the community.
