I only pause the game if I am asked to and there never was any problem with it. It was discussed in this thread that I was looking for a someone to sub johnarryn, later konmig himself replied here and I really see no reason why I should have paused the game and make people wait for nothing.

Man, I read the forums almost constantly - at least 6-7 times a day, and more at night. There was no way to make a request for a delay. There was no way to find out Pythium was being subbed.
The boards were down for maintenance! !
Ano, I think if there is a significant change to the game - like a change of player, a nation being set to ai, a change in victory conditions, etc. - that the game should be delayed until everyone knows it.
I'd like to propose that as a standard anyway.
