Default Re: Frequently Asked Questions for Newbies

In simultaneous games (playing ver 1.78 with TDM 3.20), warp points close before the enemy can come through them, so the attacker cannot get through and kill your worm hole closer on the same turn you give the order to close the wormhole.

I have not confirmed it explicitly, but logically in a serial game, if you close the wormhole on your turn, it will be gone by the time your enemy's turn rolls around.

So, closing a wormhole immediately keeps you safe from whatever is on the other side.

One strange bug, which I confirmed in two tests, is that if an enemy starts in the same system as the wormhole closing ship, and is given orders to attack that ship or to move to the location of the wormhole closing ship (i.e., at this end of the wormhole), the battle recording cannot be opened.

I would suggest putting this info into the newbie FAQ, section:

9.5.6 Opening & Closing Warp Points
