With Marignon it is going to be difficult. Your going to have to get access to a unit that has the "healer" ability. I am pretty sure the Fairy Queen is going to be your easiest bet, but you will need nature magic to get her. Also, you could race for the chalice, which requires a nature/astral caster to forge.
As far as getting rid of the curse, there is no way to do that. If your pretender has good magic paths, use him as a caster/researcher while you figure out a way to heal him
