I plan to get one, though just about every time I have made up my mind then somebody seems to have announced a new model, have lost track of the eee pc variants already . I have seen an Acer Aspire one in a nice shade of blue at the local PC world, and loved it, but it was an early model in Linux, so no use to me. I'm likely to plump for the Aspire one or the MSI Wind (PC World's re-badged "Advent 4211" one is 50 quid cheaper) in XP.

There should be no problems running the game on any XP netbook, in CD version set to 1280 windowed mode and you should be able to run it wide screen - though most of these things are a weird 1280 by 600. Installing it - I would install and fully patch up to a desktop machine, and then copy the folder over on the wireless network, or with a USB stick. You probably would want something bigger than the original "baby" eee pcs, as these only had a couple of gigs of SSD?.

As with any laptop - if you want to play games, pack a mini mouse as well, it is miles better than trying to use a trackpoint (like my IBM had - never again!) or trackpad, those are really only useful for net browsing or word processing, not precision work.

1 kilogram weight and 3 or maybe 4 hours battery life is the main selling point to me, after the old IBM laptop which was 3kg and did about an hour on battery if lucky so you had to lug the power brick as well.

Cheers
Andy
