Well to be fair we of T'ien Ch'i had actually sent Abysia a notice that we were just trying to cross through a few of his lands to get to an area with my ally's friendly dominion. Apparently he did not read the message completely.

Instead of being cool about it Abysia got all hot and bothered and attacked my few humble mage's making their journey through what would have been only 2 or 3 of his provinces with his Prince of Death. And thus began the extermination of Abysia/Mictlan. Perhaps he should have payed more attention to the initial message we sent to him.
