I am curious about how the game decides whether an AFV has turret or not. According to GG, TD is just a tank clone.

Simple.....if we give it a turreted Icon, it knows what it is and how to uses it, it also knows what we call an "invisible turret" isn't a real turret for main armament and is just for AAMG's
